1. Online
Responding online is easy!
- In March 2020, your household will receive an invitation in the mail to respond online.
- Visit my2020census.gov to access and complete the census questionnaire.
- Answer the questions and you’re done!
2. By Phone
Your invitation will also include information about how to respond by phone.*
- Follow the instructions for responding by phone.
- You’re done!

3. By Mail
If you live in an area less likely to respond online, you may receive a paper questionnaire along with your invitation.*
- Complete the questionnaire and follow the instructions for responding by mail.
- You’re done!
*If you don’t receive a paper questionnaire with your invitation, you are encouraged to complete the census by phone or online.
