Youth Services

Client Services provides oversight and coordination of the Greater Steps Scholars. This is handled by our Youth Services Program Coordinator. The purpose of Greater Steps Scholars  is to provide scholarships to public housing residents owned or managed by INLIVIAN and individuals who reside in Housing Choice Voucher housing, who desire to continue their education beyond the secondary school level. The oldest program of its kind and a true model for the nation, Greater Steps Scholars is a ray of hope for young people with the desire, but not the funds, to attend college.

The Mission of the Greater Steps Scholars is to make certain that every child living in our public housing communities has both the opportunity and expectation of a college education. The goal of the Greater Steps Scholars is to create an endowment capable of sending up to 100 students each academic year to college in perpetuity. Growing an endowment to $5 million dollars would make this hope a reality.

985 scholarships have been distributed to INLIVIAN students to further their education.
