At Our CORE

It Takes More Than Housing

All of us need help at one point or another and the families we serve need the same. That’s why it is my pleasure to launch our latest endeavor…CORE! CORE stands for creating opportunities (for) resident empowerment. INLIVIAN has been evolving as we realized that if we want to help families out of poverty, housing is just the first step. We needed to help our residents break down the barriers that were stopping them from being successful in life. We realized that giving them a home was just the start.

Creating a path forward

During the pandemic CORE partnered with Training to Work an Industry Niche (TWIN), a non-profit organization that trains and employs residents in the local community.

In October 2020, TWIN received funding from the local CARES Act Fund to create a training opportunity for individuals to learn skills that would have an immediate impact on citizens affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The success of the program has given our residents the opportunity to gain hands on experience in a field that is growing fast due to the pandemic.

Alex Navarro is on a mission

Alex Navarro is a young man with a brilliant future. A housing choice voucher participant, Alex took advantage of the opportunities created by CORE and has received scholarships that will enable him to uplift the community that supported him.
