Vice President Kamala Harris comes to INLIVIAN

Touts new affordable high-speed internet

Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris traveled to INLIVIAN’s Carole A. Hoefener  Center to discuss the Biden-Harris Administration’s investments in affordable, high-speed internet.

“High-speed internet is not a luxury, it is a necessity,” Harris said. “Students use the internet for so many reasons in pursuit of their education. Workers use the internet to find jobs and training. It is essential to our daily lives and yet more than 30 million people in the U.S. do not have access, and millions more cannot afford high-speed internet plans.”

Harris spoke about the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), a federal benefit program administered by the FCC that helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, health care and more.

We Love the Moms!

INLIVIAN created a special night just for the Moms at Southside Homes

INLIVIAN hosted “Mom’s Night Out” event to celebrate mothers in the Southside Homes community. The free community event featured a family-friendly movie, free food, a pampering station and a fun zone for children. In addition, helpful community resources will be available for residents.

This community event is part of a series of events hosted by INLIVIAN and Block Love as part of an innovative community engagement approach to connect and build relationships with residents and educate them about local resources that can assist them on their path to self-sufficiency.
